Who actually reads you, and what the LinkedIn algorithm changed
The business developer posts about 7 times a week: a handwritten quote every Monday, an INFO du jour with an image and a question, puzzles and photos at the weekend, and now and then a networking evening or a team day. 8,000 followers, 6.8 million views.
The LinkedIn algorithm shows a post to the people who reacted to the last ones, then to people like them. Post mostly feel-good content, and the audience fills with people who like feel-good content. Reach can't tell whether the business owners who buy business development are in it. Who reacted can. We looked at every person who reacted between 5 October and 3 November, and sorted them by role.

What to post on LinkedIn to reach business owners
Most creators judge a post by its likes. A business developer should judge it by who liked it.
We tagged each of the 28 posts by topic, then measured the share of business owners among the people who reacted, and how many of them each post reached.

6 rules for LinkedIn engagement from business owners
These rules come from what worked on the business developer's own profile in October, and from the best-performing posts by French B2B sales and networking creators on LinkedIn over the last 90 days.
1
Post the room, not the quote. Business owners react to the places they could have been: an evening in Geneva, a team day, a lunch in Annecy. A quote on an image is liked by everyone and remembered by no buyer. On this profile: networking and work-life posts brought 21.5% business owners, the INFO du jour images 8.2%. The Booster Club recap: 30.4%.
Explain the format, then ask one question. A numbered 'how it works' turns a nice lunch into something a reader can try next week. One question at the end gets the comments. On this profile: the Lunch Connection post (4 steps, one question) got 283 reactions and reached 18 business owners, the second-highest of the month.
Give before you ask. The best networking posts in the niche end with one small thing to do this week, with nothing to sell. It is the same thing the business developer does in real life.Across the niche: a post on networking without asking for anything got 422 likes and 66 comments.
Make the relationship the selling point. Sales posts that say 'a client buys from someone they like' beat technique posts in French B2B sales. Thirty years in the field is that story.Across the niche: the relationship-first sales post got 859 likes and 91 comments, the most of any French B2B sales post in our 90-day sample.
Show a real scene from the field. Real calls, a real meeting, a real reaction. A scene from the ground proves the method better than a list of tips.Across the niche: five real prospecting calls, shown one by one, got 384 likes and 129 comments.
Keep the Monday quote, it brings buyers. The handwritten Monday quote is the second-best topic for business owners. Keep it, and give it a business angle a reader can use the same day.On this profile: Monday quotes brought 21% business owners. The 'never give up' quote alone reached 16 of them.

Monday (22.2% over 6 posts) and Tuesday (21.6% over 5) bring the highest share of business owners. Thursday drew the most reactions, 326, but only 11% business owners: it carried the big INFO du jour images. Wednesday rests on a single post.
Posts before 8:00 (18 posts) brought 14.6% business owners, posts between 8:00 and 10:00 (10 posts) 16.3%. Keep the early slot, and put the networking and field posts on Monday and Tuesday morning, when owners plan their week.

Rappel du jour : Spécial #RELANCERule 6: keep the Monday quote, it brings buyers. Same shape as the Monday quotes, with a line a business owner can use the same day.

On s'y croise ?

Modelled on Christian Delaporte's relationship post, told with the business developer's own years in the field.
Hook
Visual · PhotoYou on the ground: at a client's door, in a shop or on a site in the Aravis. A real photo, not a stock image.Check before postingAdd one real example from your career (no client name) under rule 1 or 2. Keep the +30% line only as it reads on your profile.
Ce que 20 entrepreneurs se sont dit à Genève (et que je n'ai pas oublié)Rules 1 and 3: post the room, give before you ask. Built like the Booster Club recap, with what each person brought.
Hook
WOUAHHHH !!!!

LinkedIn lead generation: lead magnets that work to target business owners
Reactions show interest. A request shows intent. The fastest way to find out which business owners are serious is to give them something useful and see who asks for it.
In French B2B sales and networking, these formats get the most requests:
Format 1The local events agendaA monthly list of business events near you, by date and time, with the link to register. Business owners save it and come back to it.
Format 2The complete guideEverything on one topic the niche ignores, in one document, one click away.
Format 3The 2-minute self-testA few questions a business owner answers alone, with a short call to go through the score.
Our pick for you: “L'agenda networking Annecy & Genève”Format 1, built from the rooms the business developer already goes to every month: Lunch Connection in Annecy, Booster Club in Geneva, the QG de l'Immo on 26 November. Offer it in post 3 (comment AGENDA). Every request is a local business owner saying they want to meet people, which is where business development starts. With a Reveal link, every person who downloads it is shown by name, with their role and how warm they are. From reactions to clients
Content brings business owners to the profile. It doesn't say when to reach out. Most never comment, so they stay invisible. 6 of the 11 business owners who came back 3 or more times reacted to 2 posts or more in the last 7 days.
On LinkedIn, the right moment to start a conversation is when someone keeps coming back. We call that Hot: 5 or more points over 90 days, where a reaction counts 1, a repost 2, a download or a reply 4.

FAQ
Rooms and field scenes: networking evenings, team days, lunches, told from the inside with a lesson a business owner can use. On this profile those posts brought 21.5% business owners, against 8.2% for quote images.
For this business developer, Monday brought 22.2% business owners over 6 posts and Tuesday 21.6% over 5. Thursday brought the most reactions but only 11% business owners.
This business developer posts about 7 times a week and reaches 1 business owner in 7. The volume works if the posts that show the work, networking and field scenes, get the Monday and Tuesday slots.
Look at who reacts, not how many. Group reactions by role, measure the share of your ideal clients per post, and follow the people who keep coming back. A free Netwarm scan does this for you.
Yes. Netwarm only reads public reactions to your own posts. It never logs in as you, never asks for your password, and never messages anyone for you.
How we made this playbook
We read the public reactions on 28 posts published between 5 October and 3 November 2026 (a shared post and a deleted one left out), up to the first 100 reactions per post, and sorted the 830 people by role. Comments were not counted, so engagement figures are a floor.
Niche rules come from top posts by French B2B sales and networking creators over the last 90 days, and from the business developer's own posts. Role groups are approximate; a Netwarm scan matches people to your own ideal client.
